I remember Lenegan saying when he first came to the club that he expected 20,000 average gates within a couple of seasons. Due to awful on-pitch activitis our crowds seem to have been affected. Roughly 14,000 and 12,000 for our first two home games and better followings than usual from both wakey and cas fans.
The club never announced the final amount of season ticket sales which tells me it was less than last season.
For those who pay on the day, Id imagine they are being put off by whats on show. Its a shame after the fantastic fan base we built up from mid 2006. I can only see them going one way now unfortunately
Has anyone on here decided to pick and choose games now? Or even stopped going at all

Youve got to remember weve played 2 of the worst teams at home. Wigan need a win next week and there will be over 16k against the Bulls.
Even if we win next week there will never be 16,000 on. Bradford wont bring the amount wakey or cas brought. Awful travellers. Infact awful fans full stop

The quality of our rugby even if we were winning isn't good enough to drag too many of the 'casual' fans in.
If we had a homegrown team with a licence to entertain yet it was abit hit and miss results wise we'd get more on then a side that grinds out wins in a boring fashion.
We're doing neither at the minute though so the only way is down!
This happens though, if we were winning, we may well see upto 20,000 averages, but people just dont want to go and watch a team that is not only not winning but playing boring rugby.
I still have a season ticket though and will make away games when I can.
The problem we have this year compared to 2006 with the support we get is that in 2006 we could of gone down so everyone got behind the team and it was great especially games like Leeds away. This year we could be bottom all season and anyone who doesnt have a season ticket would stop going as it doesnt matter.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Very true, they complain about not being able to get here but we took over 5000 to their place 2 years ago, we had more fans there than Bradford did.
I think the only team who brings more to our place than we take the theirs is Hull KR.

NOwt do with the quality of show, more to do with the ticket prices why I pick and choose my games. When I factor in the travel cost I am looking at £100 plus a game.

I think it's not just a problem for us, I think the general quality of RL has gone down. It's becoming more of a defensive based game overall, and it's not as entertaining.

If you lived in East Hull you would want to get away.
