It's good news for the city as a whole to be able to stage this sort of event, while not knowing the reasons for the SMC not wanting to play ball i can't comment. But Duffen should make the reasons known, he is after all the head of a company running the facility on behalf of the council. If he thinks it may interupt with city's fixtures, or damage the pitch or it's going to clash with Iron Maiden playing the KC then the least he could do is come out and give his reasons, thats not unacceptable to expect surely. Being unnavailable for comment is a copout. I'm doing my best not to make this a Hull fc v Hull city thing.
Good, because it's that element of the 'argument' from some of the small minded types on here that caused me to comment.

You're welcome
However, your constant avoidance of my questions Eh? I've explained why I didn't answer the ONE issue questioned.
coupled with your deliberately inflammatory language Not inflamatory at all, unlike some of the comments aimed my way simply for pointing out their errors. leads me to believe that you are simply trolling and looking to start an argument then you believe wrong. If you carry on in that vein you can take a short break from posting on here. For what? Asking why some people are making allegations that they themselves admit are baseless? Give your head a shake.

So what about the rest of my post? how do feel about that, agree or disagree?

So if the chairman of the SMC just so happened to be our Chief Executive James Rule and he stopped the england football team from playing against Italy and would not give any reason, or answer any questions you would not think it was a decision made for rugby gains?? Get real.

I'm real, by their own admission in their posts, others clearly aren't.

Regarding the travelling, if people were coming from the Southern Hemisphere, I doubt 60 miles here or there would be an issue. I assume you're referring to my point that according to the views of some regarding this 'rugby mad city' it'd be better playing it at a bigger stadium anyway.
I agree that as far as is possible, the full reasons for the refusal should be made public.
I agree that the game should be accomodated if at all possible.
I'm not as convinced as you of the value of such games to the City of Hull, but that's a whole seperate argument. I only mention it so you don't think I'm simply avoiding it.

I didn't realise you meant it as a serious point, it's so far removed from the current situation and reality. The KC wouldn't be big enough for such a game anyway and I can't imagine any City chairman not wanting some say in the SMC. Plus, there are checks and balances in place which mean the decisions cannot be made unilaterally anyway.
So in short, in the unlikely event your scenario ever occured, I wouldn't blame James Rule (who ever he is) until I'd heard some information from reputable sources.
You've only to read this thread to see how stupid playing guessing games makes you look.
