why do people bite as soon as somebody mentions there stadium lets be honest we both need new 1s.lets get back to the game can somebody from salford let us know what went wrong today.
first half pretty much everything!no punch up front and on defence very hesitant and struggled with kick throughs,2nd half better but wakey took foot off gas, very poor and hope for better at cas.
Wakefield started really really and defensively looked solid. Granted our start was helped with some stupid penalties and Wakey's first try was a knock on from Tony Martin.
Grix got injured just before halve time which lessoned Wakefield's attack but fair play Salford tightened up in defence and had alot of the ball without ever really looking frightening. You got a fair few repeat set's but were unable to really capatilise on your second halve possession, whether that was down to goo Wakefield defence or a lack of ideas from Salford is something to be argued but you gave yourself too much to do too early.
LeuLeui (sp), played well with some good offloads and Myler tried to create gaps but i'd say alot of your lads struggled with the pace of the game.
No invention in the first half, unprepared to move the ball anywhere other than to the first man.
I think possibly 4 of Wakefield's 6 tries came from pretty much exactly the same play with the grubber into the corner, yet we failed to defend it every time.
2nd half was better, we threw the ball about a bit more and offloaded more frequently but we're still too slow in our passing - Wakefield's sliding defence took care of us easily whenever we spread the ball wide because we can't get it out quick enough. The game was possibly in reach when we had 3 straight sets of six on their line but we just weren't creative enough and they looked comfortable in defence.
Salford very poor 1st half.Forwards who looked so good last week had no go-forward at all, poor kicking game and nothing on attack,no dummy-runners etc, just one-man stuff.Big improvement 2nd half when we bossed the game for long periods and looked a decent team.Defence in the 2nd half was very good apart from the two soft tries.
Although disappointed, lets not forget that Wakey won at Wigan and performed well at Leeds, and that we matched them for long periods in the 2nd half.Big difference was Brad Drew,he ran the show. You could argue that had he played for us we might have won.
Anyway on to Cas and lets play for the full 80 this time.

Far too many penalties conceded first half, don't know if some of that was down to Ian Smith being a bit harsh, but kicking game was very poor, credit to Wakefield who defended well and just seemed to be in the faces of Salford. I thought our big pack would grind them down, but they didn't and some silly mistakes, knock-ons, and bad decision making all added to a very disappointing afternoon out added to the total lack of atmosphere at Belle Vue, at times you could almost here a pin drop!!!
Just hoping for a big improvement next week against Cas
Keep Playing The Young Talent. They Need To Gain Experience Now. These Lads Are SALFORD'S FUTURE. Bring on the BARTON
I remembered - you were garbage last year when we spanked you in the cup at your ground (resembles a travelling friend's paddock) and you were garbage again today. The Walrus has achieved consistency since he took over.
some great offloads from your lads today, really had us on the backfoot, with only our great scrambling defence keeping you out! Think we definately have one of the best defences in teh league at the moment so against a weaker side, you could rip them apart (ala celtic). Plenty of positives
