I didnt boo but I can understand why some people do, many people spend a big chunk of their money going to games so are quite rightly upset when there doesnt seem to be any effort from the players. Silence would be better.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
i think if you've payed your money you have every right to boo that garbage that is being turned out on the pitch, me and my mate stu sit in the east stand and there seem to be a lot of as he calls them 'clapping monkeys' who clap as though we have just beaten saints not lost to wakey or whoever we happen to be playing
when noble says it's encouraging that we managed to catch the ball 3 times out of ten, is when i wonder if i could have spent my £200 on something better, if you'd turn out a team of under 11s they can at least do the basics rather than some should be retired foriegner letting players just push past him and score.
my mate stu says mathers, noble and smith should be stripped to the waist whipped then paraded around the ground whilst all the real fans boo them.
i don't think he goes far enough i think birching should be dished out on the pitch!!!

If people want to boo, then I don't see what the problem is they pay their hard earned money every week. It is not like they are throwing coins, charging onto the pitch or verbally abusing individuals, the crowd are just venting their frustration the only way they can. If you play crap & lose at home to last seasons bottom placed side then IMO you deserve to be booed. If you play well, score or beat a decent side. Then you deserve to be praised. It could be worse in Italy supports turn up to their own training ground and physcially assualt, abuse and generally terrorise their own team.
A bit of Booing is nothing.

you my freind are a clown then
you should applaud the team when they deserve it , not when they have done nothing

I thought they put the effort in and on another day could have won the match. If he had clapped them off against Wakefield, then you may have a point, but it's not as if we played dire on Friday.

I don't see what the problem is
I recall Wigan being booed off the field on a number of occasions at CP when they had let themselves and the famous cherry and white shirt down.
A number of the squad don't even have the basic fitness and/or discipline required to play SL so they shouldn't really expect anything other than a hostile response.
We aren't talking here about a group of players that are doing themselves proud but massive underperformance and shocking discipline and errors.
It is a honour to wear the cherry and white.
If they aren't prepared to give 100%, if they don't want to give their all in trying to live up to the standards of the legends that have worn that shirt before them then they should expect nothing less than to be treated with contempt.
The fans seem to be the only ones involved in this club that still understand what Wigan RL means.
The bulk of the senior management, coaching staff, backroom staff and players seem to have lost sight of what the club stands for.
There's no chance of getting Edwards back sadly but his total commitment and unrelenting quest to be the best in everything he does is what we need. That's what Wigan RL is about.

i paid good money for a season ticket, am not getting value for the money - do i then have to stay til the end and applaud any old tosh to be a real fan?
Exactly. The "Im a better fan than you" argument that some Wigan fans believe in, is utterly embarrasing.

[quote="Baked Bean Boogie"]what a retarded thread.
If the players are playing well and the team is winning matches then they will be cheered, if the team is losing games but playing to their best ability then they will still be supported well, but when a team is playing boring uninteresting rugby, losing games and looking uninterested then they are going to be booed, some people need to leave cloud cuckoo land, team morale has naff all to do with anything, the players are payed handsomely to play one game a week, they should be ashamed at the way they perform, especialy those that earn more than £100k a year.
as a category 2 fan i will continue o boo the poop being played at the moment, when they start showing some heart i shall stop booing simple ass[/quote
the world doesnt need another do gooder kat, i boo cos what i see is crap from the same few players each week. ive paid so its my right
