Thats it though, he didnt swing and if the player hadnt have changed direction and ducked down slightly then Moggs hit would have been to the chest. Thats the kind of thing you have to look at. Whereas Westwood jumped and made contact wath the top half of the head with a swinging arm and should have been dispatched.

Sounds nasty, any news on Carlaw and was Benny put on report?

Think Carlaw's alright. It was like the Bailey incident the night before where the stretcher had to come on and the game was delayed for a period of time and yes, Westwood went on report. At least 3 I would say.

I agree there is no comparisson with what the Missing Link did, but I watched it again this morning and Mogg is airborne, his hand makes first (and very robust) contact with Rileys' face, and he isn't really ducking. There is only one outcome to flailing an arm at head height at an advancing player - he's not going to make any kind of tackle other than an illeagal one. I know where you are coming from, but we see this at the start of every season - it's head hunting time until Richie Mathers finally does soembody and gets a red.

They should really punish him and make him sign a contract extension.

It was put on report but that is irrelevant anyway as that incident was always going to get referred after the Monday Video Panel review in any case. I expect Fakir will be looked at as well and that didn't even merit a penalty from the NRL's third best official.

i think we would see tackle technique improve massively
Completely agree smokey when the ref lets things like that go he's in danger of the match boiling over and someone getting seriously hurt.
I've no qualms with the video been reviewed during the match and red card indication coming up on screen.

Just so long as the referee on the field is in charge of the ultimate decision and isn't that already the situation we have now anyway.
Robinson could have (maybe he did and he would have in the NRL) asked for the incident to be reviewed and then taken the advice of whoever off-field he is in communication with before putting the incident on report?
