I think there just being realistic and can indentify serious problems with the management of the club.

Worst start for 25 years but don't panic.

Lost to a depleted Wakefield side and Castleford at home but don't panic.

I doubt some people would be saying this if there was relegation. We'd all be panicking then!

Mugwump wrote:The problem is less of coaching than playing personnel (although it's true that the coach must bear responsibility for recruitment - provided he is the sole recruiter).

The Wigan team has no obvious and consistent "spine" through 1, 6, 7, 9 & 13 (almost always the most influential players) and thus no guidance - via it - around the pitch. This puts enormous pressure on the coach to ensure all plays are executed correctly from the touchline.

With a consistent spine (if albeit a modestly talented one) these key players take up the slack and the coach is free to work on those added extras which give the team its 'edge'.

To be frank, I doubt even Wayne Bennett himself could make much headway with this team.

to be fair to nobby he's not.

I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league

I think you couldn't pries John Kear away from Wakefield now, he has learned to cope with our difficulties and is emotionally attached to us, I would be gutted to say the least if he went :(

Shaun Wane is favourate for the coaching job should we lose at Quins !!

I personally would like a former player to take over and restore the pride and passion of wearing the "famous cherry & white"

If SW does get the job I wish him well. He has done a fantastic job with the lower grades and he should be given a chance IMO.

If it's not SW who gets the job who else is in contention because its only time before Noble goes?
