The RU team are?
We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die The first ones in line for that pie-in-the-sky And we're always the last when the cream is shared out For the worker is working when the fat cat's about

Here, the town centre is a nice place to go shopping, the Goldon Square is fantastic in comparison to what northampton has to offer. As much as I love Northampton, it was my home for the first 18 years of my life, I really like living in Warrington and would never want to move back to Northampton. In comparison, Warrington is brill!
Oh and then the team is that bit more succesful up here! Well, the Cobblers arent in the Premiership are they!
Indeed, having visited Northampton for the past 20 years or so, and having lived there for 5 years earlier this decade, I always tend be bewildered when the youngsters of today state that they are going to bugger off and live somewhere else because Warrington is crap.
I have to say, it doesn't get any better anywhere else. I couldn't wait to get back here and after visiting Northampton over Christmas, I realised I never really wanted to go back to Cobblersville either, even to visit
As for the sports teams, I've been to watch the Cobblers twice, once at Wantage Road (now that was a one of a kind stadium) and once at Sixfields. If people think they are being ripped off by being charged £17 to watch top flight rugby league, try paying £14 for fourth tier wendyball
Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

Surely you mean "It doesnt get any better than this [living in Warrington] for me when compared to other places I have lived"
Not quite, I mean that every place is what you make it. People complain about Warrington and think that life would be better elsewhere. Most of the time, the problem is the person and not where they live. This is especially the case for students, who believe life is simpler darn sarf, or in Spain, or America, or Australia, etc.
"Life is what you make it", sometimes complete crap, "home is where you make it", is a bit more fitting.

Bit of a bizarre statement. Aren't students who have lived elsewhere are more likely to realise that the grass isn't always greener?
71 has a downer on Warrington anyway, so he won't be convinced. I know where he's coming from with his comments re parochialism, but it's such a friendly place in general.
