read the initial advice for folk leaving the M61
ive always got off the m61 at the reebok and traveled into wigan coming down the hill from where central park was on the right, after that ive always found it a bit of a nightmare getting to the jjb,i once travelled by coach and it turned right at the tesco`s and seemed to take an age to get to the stadium following some kind of ring road is that quicker or is it better to head for wigan pier.

Messing about coming through Aspull / Hindley / wherever is a waste of time and soooo annoying.
Still, the more that go that way, the quieter it is for me

If i was coming from yorkshire i would do the following:
M62 come off at Jnc 14 (A580) follow a580 to Haydock Island on M6 (preston) get off at next Jnc (jnc25) down warrington road straight down to asda.
but if you know the area then turn left at Goose Green labour club then turn right at the lights first left onto billinge road to ormskirk road, the through the next estate (cuts out being stuck in queues)

Nah it's not, the traffic down the A49 from the M6 is a pain in the booty at any time, never mind matchdays!

Back through Leigh/Lowton and on the M6 at Haydock??
Dave
I would.
The traffic is usually fine heading from Orrell to Robin Park...Especially if you skip the saddle by cutting through Norley/Worsley Hall (Well, that's if your wheels are still intact).
