Regardless of his coaching ability you wouldn't have him here just because he coached Warrington? That's a little petty to say the least.
Millward was a great capture for Leigh, but who was to know he was going to go on to be such a good coach? It's a bit of a gamble when there are several proven coaches applying for the job.
All artists are willing to suffer for their art. So few are willing to learn to draw.
CULLEN= GOOD COACH, GOOD PLAYER MANAGEMENT SKILLS.. (who else could get a booty hole like briers to click week in week out)
GOOD STYLE OF RUGBY PLAYED ( lets half backs win the game for you instead of down the middle- how many 1 pointers did wire win by over the years and who kicked them.. )
HONEST AND SHOWS EMOTION
CULLEN = HAD ALOT OF CASH AT WIRE ( brought some big names and never delivered )
HE IS WIRE ( shoot him for that )
can anyone add.. i cant really think of alot to say no i really really hope we appoint him he did a fantastic job at wire . He dragged them from the depths of SL and made them into a top 6 club. Bare in mind how class saints were during his reign how can you win anything with them playing like they did, also i remember wire beating LEEDS in an SL playoff with Lee Briers drop goal SURLEY a S hit coach couldnt beat LEEDS with a team could he.

They way i see Cullen is as follows.
He took over at wire when they were pretty shocking and looked relegation fodder, he guided them to safety and they stayed up. He then made them into a mid table team gradually building the team to his own liking. A couple of years later and after investment from mr Moran he turned them into a top six side and they featured regulary in the play offs.
He coaches with passion and heart and clearly has a vision of expansive rugby. He also can win big games, they have beaten Wigan plenty of times over the years and also secured victory over the likes of Leeds etc. Saints they however couldnt get over but often lost in the last second often by a piece of magic from Sean Long which is hardly his fault.
He wants to coach and has the right kind of attitude to bring a good style of rugby to Widnes IMO. He's a wire but so what that doesnt bother me in the slightest.
People will question his Warrington side should have done more but overall i see his reign at Warrington as a reasonable success given what he started with. His media prescense would also be a bonus.

I think that's a very decent summary VM...
At the moment I am not too fussed with Cullen having to break the Leeds and St Helens stranglehold at the top of SL.. We can worry about that later. The job at hand is to win the necessary games in this division and to provide some entertainment while doing it.
Also.. I'll take a PM of that rumour Chris, if your doing them. Obviously it goes no further.. scouts honour and all that.
Cullen for me..
We have a very short term goal which is to win either the Northern Rail cup or a grand final in the next couple of seasons. These are requirements to be considered for the next intake of SL.
