wouldn't be surprised to see lynch re-sign for Cas next year tbh although I'd love to see us retain him. Also wouldnt be surprised if one of/both menzies and morro go another year. expect solo to go and probably tadulala. Newton is a difficult one, if wagga continues to improve then could be right time for terry to go otherwise maybe a short deal?
sykes I'd keep along with cook and halley as they all count toward homegrown quota and are decent quality players

Both on contracts to 2009. If aspirations are so high wtf are we doing not sealing their future to us

both signed at beginning of last year, 2 year initial contracts for players that age are quite common to allow club to have decent look at them in a professional setup. they'll both be signed to longer deals during the season.

The key will be to minimise disruption as it'll take time for a lot of players to settle. I hope the club learns from past mistakes in recruitment and we go for quality where possible. The current backline is seriously lacking in cutting edge and the halfbacks aren't looking too hot either. Any decent halfback prospects in the U21s or U18s? Looks potentially like a lot of upheaval in the playing staff to come. We could really do with some of the youngsters to come through so we can get some long term continuity so we aren;t doing this every few years. Donaldson is seen as the long term option for loose forward I think. There's a few other like Tate and Olbison earmarked for the second row IIRC so I hope they come through. In the front row things look healthier where Scruton, Burgess, Kopczak and Crossley look quite strong. Lynch has plenty left in him too.
Thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised to see Morrison or Menzies get another year provided they're still fit and up for it.
Liam Kay and Joe Wardle or only 17 and their the best we've got.
I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

Nope they didn't Andy & Michael Tate, George & Tom Burgess, Liam Kay, Joe Wardle, Adrian Raw all signed 3 year deals which takes them up to 2010.
You can add Ben Helliwell and Tom Lilycrop to that list as well.

Darn that Silsdenbull!
We look to have some great prospects in the forwards but I'm less sure about the backs. As a club this has always seemed to be the pattern for as long as I can remember, what's the reason?

I hope the club are working hard behind the scenes to get most of them signed up again..
Lynch, Morrison, Sykes, Cook have to be the priority for me also I think Newton should be given a new contract due to lack of alternatives, (now they don't let any english teams sign foreigners!)
Has anyone noticed how many players out of contract at end of the season? Link below
