I cannot think of anything Kenyon has done at Chelsea to make Citeh want him. I'd probably be able to come up with 20 very good reasons why they wouldn't.
The average spend per player shows just exactly what the difference has been between Liverpool and Man U (I can;t be arsed looking at Chelsea). Liverpool have had to buy 49 players since 04/05 compared to Man U's 18. The average spend per player is £9.4m for United compared to £4.4 for Liverpool (granted this presumes that the figures are correct, £9million for Leiva?)
However it does show what Liverpool fans have been saying for a while, United have been able to shop at Harrods, Liverpool have had to make do at Sainsbury's for the most part.

So its no-one's fault that you've brought in vast quantities of players, many of whom have turned out to be expensive flops?

But in terms of £££'s spent, according to that report, Rafa's talking out of his bottom, no? He doesn't mention spend per player.
I think what your referring to shows the amount of time United have been building the squad and benefitting from that special bunch of youth players. They haven't had to make wholesale changes. The budget goes on a couple of exceptional players. Due to Liverpools past cock ups, lots of players have been brought in at the same price or more expensive, than Uniteds one or two.
