The thing is many on here wanted rid of him in his first season, particularly after Pieliki skinned him at the JJB.

It's strange how so many good overseas players have a poor first season.
Pat Richards and Craig Smith being a other examples.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

nobody said it isnt, however you cant say that a 3/4 doesnt have any weaknesses if he isnt fast. That is a weakness in the backs.

It's amazing how many Wigan players in general have poor seasons. I don't think their nationality is a factor.

Can someone explain the second paragraph in the 'Football Combinations and Style of Play' section? Probably not!

It means he draws the winger in and releases his outside man.

However, the fence business is, well, odd.

Its his class, his rugby brain, that certain je ne sais quoi. Gidley is testement to the fact that you can train as hard as you want, make yourself bigger, fitter, stronger; but there will always be some guys that are just better at playing rugby than you.

Is he the best centre I've seen at saints? No, but the way he goes about playing the game is the embodiment of class and a joy to behold.

As I've explianed to my bird on countless occassions - Its all about matt gidley.

AS much as rate his offense, I still think his defense is awesome. Gidley has the great ability of stopping the ball being grounded behind the try line which is much do to his strength.
Can anyone think of a time any super league player has had the better of gidley?

Gidley is an strong in all parts of the game and doesn't have any weaknesses.

his only weakness has to be his ear size, surely if they were smaller he would have even more pace?
