As for dealing with ego's in the dressing room, the coach would be the one to sort that out but, if there are enough players with ego's which there are at wigan it would be an almost impossible task, as i have said before the players run the rule over the coach...lokk at ian millward as your example of that one...we signed noble who as you claim before, could have been anyone to step in to replace millward as the team wanted to impress, so why have they stopped impressing???, and if we have a team good enough as you say who love the game of rugby league, why the hell would you wanna bum around and look dis-interested when on the fireld of play infront of 14,000 fans, because they dont want him there anymore and wnat to push the squeeze on gettin him out???.the recruitment of the club, well there again id like to think noble, but this is wigan and we know from experience that the coach's we've seen and gone have been the fall guy's in the past of some bad recruitment rumoured to be by an ex- chairman. in short these are problems we've had for years so to throw the buck at nobles feet is really lame imo.
So why is Noble picking the players he is ie all these overseas players you highlighted when he has other options?
If you think there are bigger ego's than in the glory days you must be off your head. The fact is if the ego got in tjhe way of the team the coach got rid, see Bobby Goulding as the perfrect example of this.
In my opinion the team has zero confidence in the coach, they are playing to a game plan they do not like and indeed many of them can see is wrong but have to abide by the coach. Millward lost the dressing room, if people are consistent then they would use the same line with Millward as they would with Noble. I personally think Millward has more talent technically than Noble ever has, the difference between the 2 is man management and history, in the end though i feel they both lost the dressing room and it reflects in the performances.
We have had Noble in charge for 3 years he has more or less had enough time to get his team together apart from perhaps Bailey, who he continues to select even though he has younger Wigan options (one of your issues with the club)
Exactly how long do we have to wait for Noble to show his ability?
We have lost to the team that finished 11th last year and who had 2 key players out and there marquee player not arrived due to visa issues.
We have lost to a team that struggled last year who had 17 fit fulltime players many of whomewould not get a run in the first team were it not for injury.
We play a standard of rugby that does not suit our team and is easy for our opppnents to read, the same players make the same errors, who is to blame?
I feel Noble uses tactics that do not compliment out players. I notice you mention Piggy. His performances are generally charaterised by creativity at the ruck and picking up runners, as well as making solid scoots. How can a player create if they have no options, no dummy runners and why does he look to be dragging his booty around the field, look lethargic and not up to the standard he has last year and the rest of his career prior to that?
