In summary, HKR are made up of of a few overrated foreigners, a couple of Wigan rejects and a couple of blokes I have never heard of.
Saints by plenty, by miles even!

HKR are about as poor as it gets.

Shame it doesn't keep the sound like the full east stand of HKR. That's atmosphere.

Rovers had better chances despite being tonked in the penalty count, field position and possession and you can add to that the loss of Vella after 15 mins. They also had a perfectly good try chalked off. Last season under those circumstances they would have been soundly beaten.
Defensively they were superb and were always a threat with ball in hand. They only real negative was they coughed up the ball too many times and put themselves under pressure.

Sums it up for me too.
Bradford's pack is gonna be a handful for any team this year though I thought their half-backs lacked creativity (considering the amount of time they spent camped on our line) and their backs are woeful.

Thaler had a very poor game, kept Bradford in it with some very strange decisions!
We deserved both points on offer and not just the one got.
Bradford - they were exactly what I expected from them, good go-forward from their pack but pretty clueless in the backs.
Our defensive display was a credit, we defended our own line solidly. Although Thaler gave plenty of confusing penalties we didnt help ourselves out with a fair amount of handling errors. I thought our kicking game could have been better yesterday.
I thought Newton was rock solid in defence but MOTM for me was clearly Briscoe, he made one error all game and if he was another yard closer to the Newton(think it was him)break in the second half, he could have easily added a try to his game.
I think both teams will be pretty happy with the result, Rovers more so as Bradford will be a difficult place this season to get any sort of result. Both teams also have plenty of improvement in them.
I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell
