our players show less passion and attacking ability than 2 teams that are just out of NL1. surely that must be the coaches responsibility ???
leaving aside millward, who was the single worst coach ever to take charge of us - nobby has produced the dreariest and most mind numbingly dull teams i have seen since eric hughes.
He is a quality coach though, he took us from the bottom of the league to 3 semi- finals in 3 years thats not bad going, Im just yet to be convinced if he is good enough to take us any further, the game has changed since his days at Bradford, and we dont have the team to play like Bradford did. However I would not replace Noble with anyone other than a top class coach from Ausrailia, The Pearl or Edwards.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

i must admit i'm torn. he has a habit of producing a winning season, but if this is at the expense of enjoyable rugby and an ever increasing number of imports, i think i would prefer a new direction. only time will tell for this season - it just doesnt look positive at the moment (maybe a few injuries will help - as happened with joel last year)
Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

Not sure about that, we appear to just have an end of season surge make it to the FE and everything is forgiven. I can still see us having games like last season against Hudds at home and 3 of the saints games getting beat easy, and just general poor performaces, we have already had one which was the wakey game.
I am also not convinced by Nobles tactics, I know for fact that he splits the pitch up into 12 and tells the players what to do depending where they are on the pitch so there is no creativity, the players will get a mouthfull off Nobby if they dont do what her says. We need some players in a free role especially Hock who is a top player.
At the same time though I do want us to have stability, changing coach all the time is not the answer. I would love to give Noble all the season, and I would love him to prove me wrong and for him to sign a new 3 year deal but I just cannot see things improving, other than another end of season fling in the play-offs.

Agreed
Some of Hock's best rugby was when he had a stint at loose around the middle of last season where he was given the freedom to play on either side and linked very well with Trent
Noble won't go before the season's end. IL pay compensation? No chance!
IL should have brought at least one experinced prop in. If Coley doesn't show up for the rest of the season we are in trouble.
