When Smith was coming on last season he gave Barrett acres of space to work in with his distribution.
He is an out and out 7.
It's funny that in Oz, they still have a lot of players who are out and out 7's or 6's. We don't.
I've noticed this. You either get a scrum half who is ALWAYS first reciever and gives quick ball to the runner. They also have outstanding kicking games and lead the team around the field exceptionally well. EG Thurston, Prince, Cronk
OR
You get the strong running, try scoring. athletic stand off. EG Inglis (who plays stand off for Melbourne), Leon Pryce also falls into this category. They also have very good distribution and a decent kicking game. EG Barrett, Campese and Anasta (You do also get the one in a millions like Lockyer though
)
Smith definitely falls into the scrum half category
