It suggests that maybe the RFL made a mistake letting them into Super League ahead of Toulouse, and even Widnes.

a shade over 7,000 isn't too hot
and at least they won

Playing a game on Valentine's Day is always going to lower the attendance, but Salford need that new stadium fast.

Celtic played some good RL but they need to start games fully switched on, but they are being competitive.

The referee Albert has made a lot of improvement from the performances I've seen from him in the past, going full time has done him a world of good.

Since we all know that Huddersfield don't travel well, then we can guess that 7,000 of those in attendance in Perpignan were locals. By contrast a mere 4,000 Salford Reds fans in attendance for their opening home game is really poor.

he's impressed me when i've seen him officiate. i got some stick a few weeks ago when i said i thought he'd be a good addition to super league so i hope he proves me right. he's made a good start.

Duggan makes Wellens look like an old man by comparison.

Webb, Wellens, Greenshields, B Hodgson, Briscoe all better than Duggan.

If I squinted a bit I could probably convince myself I was watching last year's Cas side tonight. Hell, they were even wearing black and amber... Lots of enthusiasm and good in patches but just not quite on the pace, leading to slightly desperate plays especially late on. I predict a similar season to Cas' last one - one or two welcome shocks but all in all a building exercise. Hopefully the people of South Wales will be patient.

As for the crowd, IMHO getting over 4k into a place like The Willows is no mean achievement.

Yes they breed them hard in W1g4n , especially when they are then trained in Leigh

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
