Come to think of it yes it would actually we would of been 3 tries down and lost the game.

Thank god for a defensive fullback!!!!!!!

Tony can defend, you know. He's another player who's not afraid to put his body on the line when required.

Tonys's main advantage to me is how he runs the ball in on returns. Really helps us clear the line. Byrne doesn't offer as much in that regard, although he is probably better in defense.

What we really need is someone who combines the abilities of Byrne, Tony, and Hall.

Hold on to me baby, his bony hands will do you no harm
It said in the cards, we lost our souls to the Nameless One

Theyre as good as scoring a try, he put 2 or 3 in so why play it down? If it was a different player you wouldnt be playing it down.

You have no evidence to support that. If a full back misses a one on one tackle then it is described as a bad error so i don't feel every time they make one it should be hailed as a try saving tackle, only special instances such as the one he made on Goulding in the first half.

2 occasions there was no other Hull player anywhere near the Wigan player and he would have strolled in had Byrne not stopped him. Thats 12 points saved which would have cost us the game!

Going into this season I thought we had no-one to do a job at fullback for us and always thought Byrne was a waste of a contract. He totally proved me wrong on both counts against Wigan.

The words of fools mean nothing to one who resides in the truth.

Well said that man.I was in the south west corner when he made that tackle and we all jumped back with the impact.Thought he had put himself out for the season with that cruncher. On a night when we were remembering 2 of our old players how apt that our full back should inflict an Arthur Keegan type tackle on the Wigan player.Well done Todd Byrne and it's nice to know that your fellow players appreciated what you did more than some on here did.

So we need someone who is slow, crap under the high ball and can't tackle?
