I was quite suprised when they announced the crowd as I felt it was 15,500 to 16,000. East was full and they had to bring some people over to the West. South was as full as I ever seen it apart from the Derby and Play off games. Not many in the away end through prob 500 at best.
East & South were chocker ( i was in the south, arrived @7.55 and struggled to find 2 seats together).Did the figure include all the West stand feebies, and why was a large section behind the dugout cordened off??
Me thinks JR would have been rubbing his hands last night, a very encouraging start on and off the field!!

It was a respectable turnout from Wigan. 8pm kickoff at the opposite end of the M62 for a group of fans that haven't turned up in numbers to Hull in quite a while. I expected less to be fair. The Weather for the week would have put off a fair few anyway. Without that we'd have seen more, maybe a couple of hundred more.
Opening Game of the season was always going to see a decent turn-out anyway. Again the cold will have put a few off with younger kids. George didn't come with us, but at least we had somewhere for him to go.
If I wanted glory and the joys of supporting a well financed and well organised sport I'd pick another one.

To get 16000 with north empty west would have needed to have been full
example
east 6500
south 3000
west 6500
west was nowhere near full

I was sat in the West so can't tell how full it was but it seemed fairly full. I thought the breakdown was E & W 6,000, S & N 4,000 and Upper West 5,000 = 25,000.

Think a few of you are being abit harsh regarding Wigans following. They brought a good 700-800 I would say, and considering the weather, friday night, and last weeks result, who can blame them? Wigan are one of the few teams (if not the only team) that bring more to the KC, than we take to their ground. It wasnt the biggest following they've brought in recent years, but still a respectable amount considering.
