I notice from the Valhall Foundation page on the official site that there will be 400 kids from St Gerrards & Spinney Ave on tonight.

I haven't seen any adverts for tonights game round town. Have any of you?
Sadly a couple of these fans were season tickets holders up to last season.Still if we can afford to let these fans go away then so be it.

Don't think that should be a problem though mate. I would be surprised if anyone was deliberately missing a Widnes match to watch a SL side on tele.
Fair enough there are plenty of Liverpool, Man U, Everton and possibly City supporters in the town and the premiership has a big draw amongst the kids but I don't see televised RL as being a reason for poor crowds.

Two Widnes lads in work are and one of those was a season ticket holder in the North Stand. I won't be there myself and neither will my son who doesn't live in Runcorn these days and doesn't have a car.

Then he'd better hope people from areas like Childwall, Netherley, Aigburth, Woolton or Allerton don't find the TIW messageboard first or they'll do what my cousins' and their families did and head to Knowsley Road.
Well they must be ultra-sensitive around south Liverpool if one or two anonymous morons on a website forum, name calling scousers, puts them off going to a game. Not that you would ever find Liverpudlians calling Widnesians of course.

In several decades of drinking in Liverpool pubs, I can honestly say nobody seems to be bothered about Widnesians one was or another. They have no reason to be really. It's just another town in the area and of far less importance to them than the towns of Birkenhead, Huyton, Bootle or Wallasey where some of them might have relations.
Until I turned up to my first game I couldn't even have told anyone what colour Widnes played in, what the name of the ground was and could name only one player.

No, they're Widnes lads. One even has a Lithuanian name and you can't get much more Widnes than that!

Why Saints V Wire live on telly should be a counter attraction for Widnes fans God only knows.Just another excuse for people who wouldn't go anyway.
