I would also actually like to see Mark Aston get a crack.
People will pooh pooh the latter but he has done a hell of a job with Sheffield much in the same way our last decent coach did in the lower Leagues Mike Gregory.
The fact that he does not have a Wigan connection will suddenly have people claiming it to be a ridiculous idea, but the lad has talent, although maybe at a big club he would need time as an assistant first.
Would waite take us to the next level ?
Hanley as said hes not looking to come back anytime soon.
I'm all for giving young coaches a chance..but could you imagine the reaction if we appointed Aston as head coach..People are after getting rid of a coach whos won everything in club rugby..there not going to be happy with Aston

I think a partnership of David Waite and someone like Mark Aston or Cullen as assistant would be a very good team.
David Waite did a fantastic job with GB with very limited resources, but what is more he is an excellent technical coach something we badly need at the moment and do not seem to have.
Tony Smith gets up my nose nearly as much as Noble but only since he took over England his lack of ability to put his hand up and his need to talk in ridles really annoys me, but he is clearly a good proven coach who has done it with 2 teams now in very different environments.
Folks is another coach not currently working i think Murray is available, Lam would be an option but an unproven one much like Aston.
There are plenty of coaches available.

It's wrong to speculate just yet what coaches might come in. I mean no-one on here knows whether he'll get a new deal or not, some have said he isn't getting one that often that they actually believe it. Maybe he will get one, maybe he won't, he might even get sacked/resign.
He's a top coach who is far more experienced in coaching that what Edwards was when he went to RU. It worked out for Edwards didn't it?
With Faz as his number two it will work out imo as he'll be the bridge to the players plus he's got all the RL experience you need.
It's time we started to look outside the norm. Hanley & Cullen would be a far worse option as both have had their chance and haven't really done anything.
I’d personally go for Kearney as I think he’s young and fresh enough to bring in new ideas. Wiki was part of him NZ coaching team so I would either take him or Lam as his number 2.

given that reds and crusaders produced a higher quality game last night than we served up last weekend - i honestly believe ANY coach other than Noble would provide us with better fare.
our players show less passion and attacking ability than 2 teams that are just out of NL1. surely that must be the coaches responsibility ???
leaving aside millward, who was the single worst coach ever to take charge of us - nobby has produced the dreariest and most mind numbingly dull teams i have seen since eric hughes.
Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.
