Best chippy was always the one on Cambridge Road, perfect crispy batter on the cod and a faultless split.
The Supper Bar in Billinge does a mean sausage dinner though, not as good as it was ten years ago, but still nothing to be sniffed at. Had one last month when I came up for Xmas.

Think that's because the owners moved to the one at Rainford, your right though it hasn't been the same ever since. As Old Rogue said earlier, running horses chippy is always a winner but would definitely go with the chippy at Fingerpost as the best in St Helens I've tasted.

I know it isn't technically in St helens but can't knock 'scotchbarn supper bar' in Prescot. Class. One near by to the springfield in tatty Head also which I liked when i went, although we are going back two years now, can't for the life of me think of the name. Anyone?
an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!
