I know it's a minority, but to me, the atmosphere was hostile. No place for that in RL. Banter, of course yes. Out and out hostility - no.
I appreciate it won't bother most of you, but it bothers me. Sorry if that makes me fickle or soft, but I'd sooner not put myself position in the name of a rugby game.
It was a handful of kids chanting - you get much worse at other grounds!
I love going to the KC, great atmosphere, great facilities. And to another poster I think its a great ground to take someone new to

There's no such thing as a 'true fan' for mine. Following RL is a social pastime for you to do to a level of your choosing, you shouldn't feel obliged to do it to a prescribed level. If there's a part of it you don't enjoy, why do it?

Then the same should apply in not going all season.

Of course - if people don't enjoy going - why go? I know plenty who have quit who were once ardent fans as they just prefer doing other stuff. By the same token there's plenty who have taken to going in the meantime. I can't be doing with the attend every game or none at all approach.

Thats not what i was posting above. The orginal poster made the comment about changing his mind after sundays performance, so there must be an element of him wanting to attend the game as he made plans to do so.
"We lost last week so im not going next week" OR "we played well and won, i think i'll go next week"

What he said
There are times when I get more enjoyment watching the reserves / academy.

I will admit that I have on a few occassions not attended games due to the way the team has played the week before - like when we lost to Catalans in the CC semi, I didn't go to Wire the week after, thank God.
What do I think to the RL people who continually downplay everything in RL, and influence the stupid sheep to think like them? I think they are one of the reasons that RL will always be a minor sport.
From what I read there's an element of him simply not enjoying the style of rugby we play and often the lame throwing in of the towel rather than going down with a fight. I can appreciate that, one of the hardest things to get enthusiastic about is following a team with no hunger for the scrap in them.
On the subject of 'we won so I'll go next week' approach, it's self defeating, a mate of my dads who we all take the mick out of for his doom and gloom approach does this every year. It was pretty amusing last year when we couldn't string 2 wins together - I think he missed something like 5 wins whilst watching 6 straight losses
Personally, I used to feel like I'd lost a tooth missing any game, but these days whether it's a change in personal circumstances or more apathy towards the current team I'm not sure but quite a few away games I don't even consider going to.
