Get well soon richard and all the best with your recovery!
I've recently been diagnosed with the same so i know how hard it must be for him!
either way im sure he'll soon enough be back to full fitness and causing trouble for the rest of superleague!!
also one thing with regards to his medication....if they have put him on prednisolone (which is a type of steroid) then he wont legally be allowed to play as that is band under the sporting laws apparently, although it isn't a permanent treatment the course usually lasts atleast a few months.
As a Rhinos fan, who doesn't post elsewhere usually, I just wanted the wish Richard all the best.
Such a shame after he seemed to be fulfilling his potential at last under John Kear.
Crohn's disease sadly is a condition for life, I've got it, though you can control it to a degree depending on the severity. I hope he can come back & play at the top level. I played amateur stuff down here in my 30's for a few seasons(after not playing for 14years) so maybe he'll be okay after treatment & keeping to a specific diet which can help. It will be a hard road but I hope he battles through it a stronger person.
All the best kid.

Given that it is highly likely that Richard will need (or could well have already had) steroid medication, to treat the inflammation, one would hope that if Richard is able to return ( ) to playing the RL will be pragmatic and flexible in regard to its rules on drug taking.
"In fairness the Wildcats spluttered sporadically. When they were good they were very, very good and when they weren’t - they gave away penalties."
