Perhaps a letter C/O the Wakefield Wildcats would be the easiest way.

It's terrible that the condition has struck him, I hope they are able to help him get it under control and get back on the field for next year.

He played well everytime I saw him play last year.

Shocking the change in him.

Wishing him well, and hope he can find a regime that manages his condition, and gets him playing again.

Alice's Phallus wrote:I honestly wish the lad the very best luck. Nobody who is not a mass murderer or child molester deserves such a fate as this disease. Richard Moore showed a lot of guts and determination on the playng field. He will need to be a very brave lad to deal with fighting this horrible illness.

But while we all pray for his full recovery, reality dictates that we acknowledge that full recovery might not happen.

I hope that people in the know will keep us posted on his condition.

It's not a disease, as in communicable, it is however a chronic illness.

Great advances have been made in treating the condition over recent years, usually managing to avoid the need for radical surgery. With proper treatment, modern drugs and a regulated diet, there's really no reason why, once the condition has been stabilised, that Richard Moore cannot continue his RL career.

It depends, some people respond well others don't. Strange thing is athletes tend to respond less well than the average Joe. Apparently something to do with their bodies being more highly stressed. Added to that the shear demands put on the body if he resumes his career will not help.

To be honest it's a massive ask for the bloke but fingers crossed.

I've had work colleagues and others who i know with Crohns as well as people i've loked after and it really is a a diesease process that can take a number of courses. Fingers crossed that Richards is sorted out for him and he can potentially get back to paying RL.

I spoke to my daughter who is a nurse last night about it. She said that it is treatable but he will be on medication for the rest of his life.

I asked her if if she thought he would ever play again, her answer was "extremely unlikely"

I really feel sorry for him and his family and do hope that my daughter is wrong.

Good luck big man.

I know someone with Crohns and their life has rocked forward and back for many year culminating in a fairly serious operation a few years ago to "make best".

Its livable with but once it sets in then food and drink have to be curtailed if they inflame it and some times it can be in the most uncomfortable places.

If you've ever had terrible constipation thats apparantly what its like for hours days at a time.

Lets hope modern treatments can help fix this and we get richard back playing asap.
