I'm not Goulding's biggest fan but I don't see what advantage is gained by playing Phelps instead. Goulding doesn't have a clue when it comes to putting his winger away, but he's as fast as Phelps and I think his defence is better (I felt very sorry for Roberts on Sunday who was exposed time after time).
I've never seen a guy look as physically scared of playing a game of rugby league as Mathers looked on Sunday. This ban has done the lad a favour.
It may be a case that his injuries have made him lose his bottle and the only way that could come back is by having a good run of games. Unfortunatly we can't afford to keep having him mess up for the first team so an extended run of at least 6-8 matches in the reserves is a must. We have easily enough players to cover his absence.
Richards to fullback for me with Phelps/Ainscough on the left wing and Goulding coming in at right centre.
I don't think Pryce is anywhere near ready for first team duty based on the friendlies.
