And out of the 14 mentioned Leeds trained first team players 5 or 6 of them (not sure on Allan) are not Leeds born.
To be the best you have to look around because it is not likely you will find the required amount of players to be the top team from 1 area. It is possible, but not likely.

Well, if you have an excellent 16 year old that gets straight into the squad but you havn't trained him ... There has to be a cut-off somewhere.
But I would like to see the same list posted at the top, adding the under-21s, that the club has had on their books for a year, that are in the squad.

Now we are back on even pegging judge us in 3 years. Don't be surprised to see Hull's reducing and HKR's increasing. (Hopefully they will both be increasing though!)
this is your 3rd year isnt it?

For me it looks that Hull KR went for the Sh*t or bust approach adopted by Widnes a few years ago, in order to get in SL. It looks like their gamble worked, unlike Widnes. A lack of any coherant development, combined with a stadium that is clearly sub standard at present in size and facilities, must also mean that Hull KR despite having a large fan base, must be one of the clubs staring down the barrell of demotion in 3 years time.
We were in administration 10 years ago and share a city with another club that's been in the top flight for years now. You can't compare our situation to Castleford or ANY other club in SL.

I agree but 3 years seems a bit excessive to me. There are quite a few good teens running around these days. I think 2 would be about right as you have to be exceptional to get in a team under the age of 18.

Because Cas certainly dont have another club in the city that has been in the top flight for years now!
there is no other club within 50 miles of castleford is there?

As has been mentioned, youth development is not JUST about kids from the local area. It doesnt really matter that you share a city. I bet London has loads of kids with the potential to be good RL players. That is what having a good youth set up is all about.

God I don't care who wins superleague as long as it isn't Leeds. They have 2 shock wins and we have to put up with 2 years of OTT gloating.
Stop highjacking threads.
Anyway.... You can not be too harsh with HKR. They have not been in the league long enough to attract top quality young players.
Also considering Saints poached Wilkin from them, ChairMaker as Saints fans should think twice before criticising them.
This chart does not tell the whole story. I am sure there are a number of players in the 25 man squads of some teams that will never play first team rugby. It woul be a lot better if they showed players who have played more than 30 games.

Castleford haven't been dwelling in a lower league for the past 15 years though, have they. My point is, Hull KR hasn't been an attractive place for a player to be. Now players actually WANT to play for Rovers for acheivement reasons, not just sentimental.
