On balance it could be argued that Pryce is just as limited.
a reasonable long pass and can take advantage of the quick play the ball style..jumping in regular at the AHB..oh and the ability to go missing for 3/4 of the game.

That was the catalyst to Mcguire doing what he does best and a matchwinning performance. Not to say thats a bad thing though.
I think that's somewhere close to hitting the nail. McGuire has strengths and weaknesses, much like any other player. He's perhaps not the greatest organiser of a team, but take that responsibility off him and let him carry the ball, look for gaps and passes near the line and he's one of the more dangerous players in this league. I think he was a better player the last 2 years than he was in 2004. Far more strings to his bow, so to speak.

Whilst I don't disagree with what people are saying about McGuire's organisational abilities he's actually far better than people realise. Nobody appears to have mentioned that he created 2 of our tries on Friday.
Is he better than Leon? I don't know. He certainly was a million miles ahead of him last October.

I agree, he isn't anything like as one-dimensional as some people think. He is also a good creative player, and makes a lot of opportunities for players around him. What he doesn't do as well(not to say he doesn't do it at all) is give overall structure and shape to the side in the way that someone like Sinfield does. That is certainly no criticism, as Sinfield doesn't offer what McGuire does attacking the line either. I think that's why Leeds are at their best with Sinfield and Diskin/(or probably Buderus) controlling the shape and tempo and McGuire and Burrow being left to do what they do best, which is find gaps and exploit them. They can do the other, more pragmatic stuff, but others do it better, and they're both better when they don't have to. IMO.

Excellent analysis my boy.
