No balls, can't catch unless it's easy, flaps under pressure, too laid back leaving himself no go forward options as the kick chase defence is then in his face, and positionally he's flawed - everyhting you don't want your full-back to have. He's had long enough now, reserves games or get rid.
People keep saying he needs time to get his confidence, bollox - he's had a full season, and today he served up the same timid sh!te he offered last year ......... how long do people want to give him, he's a risky points haemorrhage machine, one we can't afford either tactically or financially.
He's at Wigan on the back of his reputation after a couple of good seasons at Leeds, and then off to Aus where he got injured - but that was then and what we see today is now....not good enough for Wigan I'm afraid - get shut! & get get Paaat in at FB.
Mathers isn't in the same league as Richards in that position. I'm not doubting his commitment or passion but he's just not good enough.
When he got binned I don't even think they missed him, so what is his contribution to the team - it looks like his only contribution could be that he's just an extra body on the pitch filling a hole, so lets have one there that can actually play.

Doc Murray > Mathers
Think i was the first one on here to note the similarities.....strange how more and more people are now coming to the same conclusion and finally realising this guy is gash!!!
can we not tempt rads out of retirement again.....hed be 10 times the player mathers is now even without match fittness and being about 35

Well to be honest he wasn't that great defensively today. Easy tries down the right, and a few near misses.

I kept the faith and I kept voting Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand For theirs is a land with a wall around it And mine is a faith in my fellow man Theirs is a land of hope and glory Mine is the green field and the factory floor Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers And mine is the peace we knew Between the wars
