I know it's only one game, and we lost our first game at the start of last season, but the manner of the defeat today could well set the tone for Wigan in the weeks to come.
Already the NOBLE OUT threads are starting, Mathers is a waste of space ( from our old friend King Warrior ) another.

I've been reading on here all pre season how Wigan are this and Wigan are that....well they have just lost in their first game of the season, at home against mediocre opposition. If ridiculing them after reading the nonsense (including their captain this morning stating what they are going to do) is naive then I am indeed being naive. Any Saints fan who fears Wigan need their heads seeing to, they are garbage, end of. The only way they will beat us, yet again, is if we play pathetically, which we are capable of.

Dude, I dont remember our fans gloating to the extreme like Wigan fans have been doing about how they couldnt fail this year. Just read some of the recent threads on cherry&white. Thats why I am gloating. I am more than aware that we could fall foul too, but until that happens, I am gladlly going to gloat

from what I saw today they lacked a creative spark. They were stood utterly flat in attack at times and near the line they just looked lost. Riddell looks terribly unfit too and they had no real impact off the bench.
Obviously we dont know how we'll fare this year but from what I saw today Wigan wont be in the running for honours although I'm sure they will grind out there fair share of results.

I just think it's so funny that they lost! To be honest, I was expecting them to win given Wakey's injury problems. But to lose at home is just too much for me to cope with. I just have to laugh!
