Do actually know how to pronounce them though?
Most people get them wrong anyway, even when they are using the correct name, Beijing in particular.
Do you say Paris or Paree?
Cologne or "Köln"?
Munich or "München"?
Is it really important, when discussing these places amongst English speaking people?
Is it such a massive crime to call Sri Lanka by it's old name Ceylon, or Mumbai, Bombay?
