Only a fool would make a decision now, before the season has even started. No need to decide until Sept time, when their form/fitness can be properly assessed.

The problem with that approach is that any suitable replacement may not be available so late in the season.
I'll share a little bit more information on here at some stage before the poll closes.

You are showing your Wigan roots there in thinking that you have to recruit from outside when a veteran player retires. Saints on the other hand prefer to develop talent in house.
We already have Eastmond or Matty Smith as Longys replacement in the halves.
Hooker is covered via Roby, and also probably Scott Moore.
I personally think the centres is the are of biggest concern hence why a youngster needs to be brought through this year. Otherwise in 2010 we will have two inexperienced kids covering in the centres.

If God took up rugby league then his name would have been Vollenhoven with AJ Murphy along too
I agree its really to early to say, lets see what happens during the season. As things stand now if we can only keep one I would go for Cunningham but who knows what will happen during the course of the season.
As has been said we are lucky to be in the position where we have young players ready to/not far off ready to step up and although they aren't going to be as good to start with hopefully the transition for both players will be controlled to ensure we get the best from their replacements when the time comes.

What has this got to do with Wigan? If you want discuss overseas players feel free but start a new thread.
