The Centurions Girls rugby sessions are returning every Monday form the 9th February 5pm – 6pm. All girls who enjoy watching or playing rugby league are urged to come along and take part in the fun rugby skills and games.
Girls from the Leigh and surrounding areas have already enjoyed the fun sessions before Christmas and the Centurions Girls Club is set to re-launch bigger and better than ever!
All female rugby enthusiasts are welcome to come along free of charge and receive expert coaching by Leigh Centurions community coaches at the new and fantastic facilities at Leigh Sports Village on the 3G pitches.
Club Liaison Officer Ryan Baxter commented ‘The sessions were really well attended before the Christmas holidays and it is hoped that other girls who are interested in rugby league might come along and give it a try.
The Centurions Girls Club is designed for both experienced rugby league players and novices to come along enjoy fun rugby games, learn and practice new skills, make friends and socialise in a unique fun environment’
If you love rugby or just want to keep active come along to the next session. If you would like any further information please contact Ryan on 01942 487887 or e-mail ryan@leighrl.co.uk

As you know I’m with you all the way on this one, its especially disappointing when none of the 4 clubs can enter cup competitions, due to insufficient numbers, and yet if we all joined up not only would we be able to enter they’d have a damn good chance of winning it.
It tells us the way to go when the strongest girls teams (most players) are those that are town based and not individual clubs.
Hopefully we’ll join up before to many girls drop out of the game, because they can't play in the important competitions.

Good luck with this, I hope folk see sense and get together. It seems apparent that not one team can muster up a full side (I believe they can at LRU ?) so why not pull together? They could share resourses and play at each club alternatively whilst still being an active member of their "own" club. It would just be like a Leigh Town Team with represerntatives from 4 clubs.
By the way, I know there are Easts and Miners but who are the other 2?

Golborne and Westhoughton.
The plan was/is to have a full open partnership with shared resources.

Thanks Fred
I’ll come back to you on that one, I’ll have a chat with all concerned perhaps we could do a short DVD promotion for the community department to show in schools.
