Thats because the SL is an easier competition than the NRL.

Its time a few faced facts that the premier RL competition is the NRL. By default, anything else is going to be easier.

Factor in the media coverage they get down under and you can understand a player who has been there and done it against the best week in week out wanting a slightly quieter life.

As has been mentioned, from a club point of view, Crocker is far better than the majority of forward in SL, even when not firing at 100%.

How can you possibly know that until he gets here and we see him going against our forwards

Not every player with a big reputation can come here and dominate.

I think he'll do well but he will have to be 100% fit and commited or he will be found out

As any player, amateur or pro, will tell you if you're not right mentally you won't go well.
It's also extremely difficult to go well in a team performing badly or to look good when surrounded by worse players than yourself.
Then there's all the settling into a new environment and culture.
Hence many Aussies etc can get off to a poor start. Then they either frame themselves or fade away.

The same way I could easily have said, Shane Webcke could still play in SL now, on one leg and be better than the vast majority of other props.

The same way I would say, a fit Darren Lockyer would fit in nicely to EVERY SL team.
