Roughly translated that sounds to me like he's going to the KC to wind down. Not that he'd be the first NRL player to do that, of course (I mean England in general rather than Hull in particular).

Given the fact that it's a choice between Super league or retirement shows he doesn't place a high value on the competition. It is arguably less intense than the NRL but it might be a bit tougher than Crocker's expectations.
And what message does this send to his new coach? Can't be arsed before he even pulls the shirt on.

that's not the first comment he's made since signing his deal that suggests he's coming over her for a slightly easier ride.
Going by Englands offering in last years WC he could play at 70% and still be head and shoulders above any English forward. Besides, when/if he gets over hear I don't think for one minute he would give anything less then 100%, he is a winner.
