i liked the quote about the only thing union having to offer our players is money and nothing else.

as Sonny Bill Williams has shown, money might get you interested in union, but when you have to play the sport you will miss rugby league.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

There would only be one choice for me. I'd stay in League with the Tigers.

BENJI Marshall has called David Gallop's bluff with threats of legal action if a stint playing rugby in Japan derailed his NRL career.

A day after Gallop warned the Wests Tigers superstar faced deregistration if he played rugby union in the off-season, Marshall's camp said they were pressing ahead with the rebel plan.

And they declared any attempt to black-ban Marshall from the NRL in future years would represent a "restraint of trade'' they would pursue in court.

"David Gallop is a lawyer and would surely know that preventing Benji from playing another sport in another country would be a restraint of trade,'' Marshall's manager Martin Tauber said. "Once his NRL contract expires and he is no longer registered to the NRL, Benji is free to do what he chooses.

Quote:The National Rugby League come out yesterday and said they would block any move Benji Marshall made to play rugby union in Japan during the off season before re-joining the Tigers before the start of the 2010 season.

Someone tell them this isn't 1940's Germany.

Benji Marshall is off contract at the end of this season. He wants to stay at the West Tigers, but like most elite players, Rugby League is not willing to pay him what he is worth.

To make up the shortfall between what he is worth, and what the Tigers will pay him, Marshall has looked at going over to play Rugby Union during the upcoming off season, then coming back to the Tigers in time for the start of next season.
