Can you really see the Bulls announcing this news if they weren't sure of a Visa? They'd probably wait until the visa was confirmed before pushing out the press release?
Considering the way others are having problems with visas, it wouldn't make sense to announce it before being given one?
We have a strong pack and a very good half back combination in Bird/Deacon, Bird/Jeffries. Hopefully the club will have the second and third option, and not the player. Could be a very good year for the Bulls

I've seen the Bulls coaching team and it's massive.
Signing this guy , to me, is an admission that these guys are not doing their job very well.
This is sending out the WRONG message.
Sorry but it is.
So the club are expected to just stop improving the current squad whilst we wait for the young guys to develop? The club have spent a hell of a lot of time and effort recruiting some potential SL stars so I doubt they will now suddenly forget about them!

From what I've read most of our opponents see it as the RIGHT message and think (rightly) that if and when he comes it is a major coup.
But then again your post is useful to illustrate the total no-win situation that Hood/McNamara and Co are in, and why Mac ignores BB's - they're damned and ridiculed if they don't make signings, and they're damned and ridiculed if they do.
To me, the prospect of seeing the likes of Burgess, Menzies, Morrison, and now Bird every week is one to relish and as someone else has already pointed out we have a host of young 'uns making their way up. What do you think - Bird is going to replace the lot of them? Then he must be good!
