I have been heavily critical in recent weeks of the continually growing list of cock ups and it did become apparent that the people i place at the start weren't fully armed and ready, through no fault of their own. It appears they are now learning, investing and things are moving forward at a greater pace.

I thought he said that.
Yes I did.
However, it is Tomkins and sorry but I disagree with Noble's argument and would have spoken up about it. I actually found his comments interesting and would have enjoyed Noble being the full evening to discuss the team.
I disagree because A) The young men are ready because if they are not we must be doing something wrong given youngsters are fine at Castleford, at St Helens, at Leeds etc etc, in the NRL and B) They are not selected on merit. Sam should have been given games from the bench after Whitehaven. Mathers was never selected on merit. Joel Tomkins was hailed as an example but he was not selected because he was ready. He was selecyed because Lockers got injured and Noble had no choice.
You are allowed to think and agree/disagree with coaches etc.
new it was you.. i was sat next to you at the first fans forum!!!
to the bit in bold absolutly!! had a chat with noble after the forum had some interesting things say about j tomkins/lockers

haha suppose but alot of the quality around him wasn't great. Noble seemed to talk alot of sense last night and said as long as younger players are offering competition to first team they will get their go in a few games and if they show top quality effort and skill in them chances may stay in i.e. as joel did last year.
"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.

I also enjoyed Nobles "I love young talent" comment. Seriously felt like a school kid again with the giggles when somethings not even that funny but was dying to laugh.

It's a balancing act and it's about priorities. He also mentioned that he envisaged 'in the medium term' that we are seeking to provide the bulk of our players from out own Academy, with about three world-class players from elsewhere.
He also mentioned that the current situation would change radically in 2010, when five of our current big earners come off contract.
I do approve of this yes, but it just seems to me that the balance is slightly wrong and continues to hamper us in the search for real quality. I would rather pay the market value for a world class player than increase the wages of a couple of prospects.
I hope this policy works for us i dearly do, but i think sometimes you have to grasp the nettle when real quality comes on the market.
Regards 2010, i may be wrong but was 2009 not stated at the last forum as the year we could expect us to be in for some big names and the year on which the club should be judged?

I thought that appetite for young talent had left with Millward
