That depends entirely on the judgement of Ian Lenegan if thats the decision. I hope he realises some players are worth a significant amount of money. Trent Barrett an example.

With regards to signings and releasing players he said we have about £20K left on the cap.

He went on to say that we would like a prop but we would not consider letting any of our young props go on a permanent deal, listing O'Carroll and Prescott. He did however say that it would be a possibility that we could loan certain players out to 'smaller' SL clubs to make room on the cap and within the squad.

We have made Bird an offer but he doesn't think we'll get him.

One club has asked for a £75K transfer fee for a player we're interested in. We won't pay that for this player.

Got to say this is a top signing

Any progress on the new conditioning staff that IL promised after the last forum ?

It doens't look like we will sign a prop and we have made an offer for Greg Bird but it's unlikely we will get him. So in terms of the squad it appears as though it's 'as you were' so to speak. We have approx £20k left to play with on the salary cap but can loan out players to free up space.

As if I'd rub it in. These fans forums are only useful when the club is in turmoil. 8)

Personally I'm happy with the squad bar the possible prop short.

What a stupid statement from Lenagan.

Three words - why bother then?

Going with I think.

They said we were within £20k of the cap.

Although they also said that a player purchase mid season with a bit of maneuvering is always possible.

Lots of conditioning staff and other coaches were appointed a while back but weren't made public. All such appointments will be announced in the future

Yes, a new conditioner has been added along with a few other members of staff. I can't remember who and in what positions though.

He said they were at that gam, but he knew that their logo being emlazoned across shirts on the internet had scared them off.

Firms appreciate that the biggest value in sponsorship is the impact of announcng they are investing in the club, if this is tainted somewhat then it ill put them off.

Hence why the club made us removed this weeks images, as the deal was only signed sealed and delivered last night.

Also it does appear that the deal makes them the 'main sponsor'. Whether this was to reassure fans or they actually are, who knows.
