O'Neil won games single handedly for Widnes against us with his kicking. Thorman is alright but he wasn't what we needed. Agar says he isn't going to rush into signings but to me it looks like he has done there as I can't see how Thorman has given any evidence in his many seasons playing RL, that he is good enough for a top 4 team
Like we rushed into signing a crock last season.

Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.
Well i may as well go and get my money back off my pass as we are doomed to failure...............how anybody can say how we are going to play is frigging beyond me....yes there are faults with the team that have been here since Mcrae left and succesive coaches havent rectified it..some made it worse.
Payers are not available and it we make a signing for the sake of it,everybody on here will be up in arms as to why we have got medicroty again......suggesting we should have got Ryles instead of Crocker is a good example.....we didnt know then that Carvell was going to dick us around and Crocker was available and we got him.How was we to know Carvell was going to act the 2@...if we had hung on and missed out on them both...jesus it would have been meltdown on here.
very good points there mark, just what we spoke about yesterday.

What did we need then?
I'm not saying he is better than what we had as such. But Agar says he is only going to sign the right players, and if those right players aren't available then signings won't be made. And I can't see how Thorman is the right player. Yes, I know he could end up been a great signing or whatever and I'd be over the mood with that, but I doubt he will.
If there aren't any players out there good enough to help take us back up to the top 4 then then Agar should stick to his word and not sign them.
From the way things are at the moment, I would have preferred Washy at 6 and Horne at 7 until the right player became available and used the wages spent on Thorman to help bring that player in.
And with Carney, I would have taken a risk. Manu has previous and we signed him, look at how he has turned out. Thats just an example of how things can turn out for the better. We came 11th last year and if taking us up the league means taking a risk or two with the likes of Carney then I wouldn't have complained
It doesn't matter who is available, its about whether they are right for the team. Imo, Thorman isn't the right man and until I am proven wrong by his performances, I will say that we should have waited to sign someone who is the right man, whether that was this off-season, during this coming season, or for 2010.

You ever thought Agar MIGHT think Thorman is the right player for the team.
So you would play a 13 at 6 and a 6 at 7....we would be back to square one as neither of them are organising halfs.
Agar wasnt my 1st choice but he will get my backing....think i'll trust his judgement on players in stead of people in the crowd who think they know it all.

To be fair, our half-back combo of Cooke and Horne and how well it worked didnt mean we needed to exactly push the boat out to sign a 7, although I remember at the time that many people disagreed with that opinion
