I have no problem with people being patronised, or taken the p**s out of when they write something that leads to it - it is when people put their own, bizarre, translations to points made and try to attack the opinion on what they want it to say, rather than what it did say, that I take offence.
As a supporter I think my "wants" are all pretty realistic, if I thought everyone was doing their best and the team were playing to their best every week but losing every game I could accept that even though I wouldn't be happy about it - I do not think this is happening, there is far too much underachievement, personally and collectively, at Odsal - and after two and a half years I am getting less and less confident that the current coach is the man to do anything about it, based on what I have seen.
That's the end of my input to this thread for now as during the close season all we can do is go around in circles, hopefully I'll be proved wrong in 2009.
I completely agree. I've no problem (apart from the disapointment) if the team plays to their best but loses. But under McNamara it seems that the players (in the majority, yet there are some exceptions to this) don't really give a toss about the result and the coach covers up their inept performances by citing problems with the ref etc. Now, if we lose out on a tight game because of a bad ref call, then fine, complain about the ref. But if the team rolls over and gets some jail-house love from the opposition then it's not the ref. It's the players and the coach who are at fault. I'm all for the coach trying to produce a "them vs us" mentality. Certain premership managers in football have done that and created a strong team ethic where the team pulls together, however at Bradford it seems the players are all pulling in different directions and until we get someone who can get everyone to pull together we will continue to see more of the same as we have over the last 2 1/2 years

I just don't think ths is the case. Two of the darkest days of the Mac era (Wigan in the play-offs, Hull in the cup) saw us trying too hard if anything and blowing it. Meanwhile, every side that's not winning (certainly every Bradford side I've seen) gets accused of lack of effort by the fans. I'm pretty dubious about fans' ability to discern effort or lack of it from the terraces.
There's plenty to criticise, but I'm not sure effort is particularly one of them.

Hey, if McNamara does go, you'll have a few unintended consequences that will prove pretty difficult to 'spin' to the benefit of your argument, trust me.
BTW, page 30 and still going, congrats to all concerned and apologies to all those bored to tears...

And the substitutions of our best players with half an hour to go and not doing anything about it until it was too late had nothing at all to do with it then?
You tell us though that.....
1. effort is not an issue.
2. ditto fitness.
3. our players are of a decent quality.
4. Mr McNamara is doing an excellent job.
Why then are we such a poor side then? Face facts, McNamara plunders average players from middle to lower ranked sides (in general) because he is at best a mid table manager who will never be a success at a club with ambitions of winning silverware.
By accepting him as the man for the job the club are simply accepting that we are an average side at best. Perhaps if they admitted as such it would not be so bad. No doubt we will hear the usual rallying cry from the "best young coach in Super League" soon enough though.

My argument is that McNamara is a dud coach. I need not look to "spin" anything. He is.
