Well, he certainly talks a better game than McNamara
He is an irritating pundit on Sky though - likes to wax lyrical about Saints because his Warrington team were perennially incapable of beating them even when they were there for the taking. Also, for a man who professes to be a more intellectual coach it is shameful he keeps calling the England scrum half "Burrows" all the time. Then again, it isn't as bad as Eddie Hemmings getting Kevin Penney confused with Lee Penny every match - isn't he meant to live in Warrington?

Just thought of an analogy for Eddie - imagine you don't like your house, but if you were to sell up the market is such that any house you'd get would be likely to be much worse. Would you still sell and move out?

crap analogy. I would have bought a decent quality house in the first place rather than pick the first and cheapest one that came on the market.

Aye, and Eddie is hinting at it too. And, as we all know: Mystic Eddie has been right all along! - copyright vbfg 05.01.2017

I think you might have ended up in a cardboard box mate.

I know some think saying such a thing is heresy, and that no other coach could possibly do any better, but surely when so many players underperform compared to their past exploits at different clubs and under different coaches (and we can add the likes of Newton, Godwin, Solomona and Langley to the backs already mentioned) it seems a pretty obvious conclusion to come to?
I think you're setting up a straw man there, as well as falling into Eddie's 'Give me Bennett or give me death' mode of thinking. No one's claiming McNamara is the greatest coach in the game, but he most likely is the best available to us.
Further discussion of this matter should probably take place someplace else.
