Our game on the weekend was called off because unfortunately Waterhead were unable to field a team. I thought the game would have been postponed but it looks like the game will not go ahead now and we were awarded a 18-0 win, which is a little disappointing to say the least

MINERS STARTED WELL AND GOT THEMSELVES INTO A 10-0 LEAD, KEITHLEY HIT BACK TO SCORE 2 TRIES TO TAKE THE HALF TIME SCORE 12-10 TO THE VISITORS, IN THE 2ND HALF IT WAS A HARD FOUGHT CONTEST IN TERRIBLE WEATHER THE CUBS SCORED AGAIN TO MAKE THE SCORE 18-10 THEN ADDED A PENALTY GOAL TO TAKE THERE LEAD TO 10 POINTS.MINERS HAD TO DIG DEEP TO GET BACK INTO THE GAME AND WITH 9MINUTES TO GO THEY SCORED, THE TRY WAS CONVERTED TO GIVE THE SCORE 20-16 TO THE CUBS,MINERS SCORED AGAIN WITH 3 OR 4 MINUTES TO GO OR SO WE THOUGHT,THE GOAL WAS CONVERTED AND THE REF BLEW UP TO GIVE THE FINAL SCORE 22-20 IN LEIGH MINERS FAVOUR.

MINERS WERE FAR FROM THERE BEST BUT CREDIT TO KEITHLEY THEY WERE OUTSTANDING AND THEY DESERVED TO WIN TONIGHT AND IM SURE THEY ARE WONDERING WERE THEM 3 OR 4 REMAINING MINUTES WENT AFTER THE FINAL MINERS KICK WENT OVER.

SHOULD BE A CRACKER SUNDAY AS MINERS ENTERTAIN CELTIC CRUSADERS

Just been told that East Leeds Vs Waterhead is off as Waterhead have dropped out of the league

Translated to say "that we had a full strenght team that would have chalked up lots of points"


But dont ask us to play when we only have 13 not so good players.

Sorry to hear that Waterhead have had to drop out of the league, would not wish that on any team.

Not really, we would have expected a bigger scoreline based on the previous game, but its just that we have only had one game in a month and the lads are busting to have a game.
We travel to the Miners on sunday who, on their showing this year, are the best team in the league but the lads are really looking forward to it. The lads dont mind who they play they just want to play.
