I'm sure the Beeb moving to the North West will benefit RL.
Indeed it will. Pity the RFL couldn't get a base in Manchester either.

what a load of s**t.
BBC sport moving to salford.
Salford RL club playing in a brand new stadium before big crowds.
Result - increased RL coverage for the sport.
if salford get their ground it will be massive not just for them but for RL.

I think that quite simply the fact that BBC journos will be taken away from their Public School and London bubble they will get a better pciture of what people are interested in ourtside of their previous shell. In the North West, RL is a comfortable second behind football in terms of people watching and cultural/community significance so it can only help the sport.

the way they push union is a joke.
if RL got a fair treatment by guys like these it would be a massive boost for the game.
thats why salford could be a big thing for RL, but the new ground is crucial.
at the kids xmas party on thursday,
john wilkinson said it will take 62 weeks to build, and we will be in it, in 2010, but not for the start of the season.

Why are the BBc creating a whole new department just to cover one sporting event? how much will this cost us?
Are not the Olympics Sport so therefore lie with the remit of the head of sport.
There will be nothing to do until 2011 DEcember at the earliest because most of the stadia will not be ready until after then, so camera and Tv boxes positions can only be planned after they open.
It looks to me like a lot of the sports staff don't want to move north and this will be the reason, the BBC will in effect have two sports departments and hence double the cost because southern jessies are too scared to come North.
