Agree with alanw and Briali1 (!). As gutterfax has pointed out, the Quins RU commericially are amazing and commericial effort is apparently non-existant. Surley it is in the RU clubs interest for us to be doing alright as well? I don't see the point of us being Harlequins when the RU side of the club clearly have very little to do with us. As pointed out 1000000 times, Harlequins is the biggest brand in rugby but the RL powers that be at the club are clueless. External help is needed from EXP Sports or whatever.
Flyering at this stage is indeed pointless. 1 week before maximum, right up until the night before the match IMO.

They cost a lot of money to prepare and print and with events so far ahead unless households are really interested they will probably end up on the bin and then forgotten. Run an ad in the local papers - three weeks out, two weeks out and a week out to remind everyone we are here and get in their faces. In Mid Jan start of hand out flyers for the games there should be more chance of the money spent reaping rewards.
If the Quins V manly game is not advertised at the Barbarian v Australia game at Wembley I for one will be gobsmacked.

A lot of the ozzies going to that game will not be Your normal yawnion brigade off to Twickers for the corporate and car park picnic. They will be probably once in a lifetime people going to Wembley because it is new and shiny. How much would an add cost in the programme? A few leaflets handed out to the crowd at Wembley central.

An ad in the program would cost a fortune. They would quickly forget about a friendly match in February, especially if they have been drinking. Have you ever seen anyone handing leaflets out at Wembley? It would be a total waste of time, people would have a quick look, see thats in February and discard them, and forget the match even exists. Would be a better idea to leaflet 1-2 weeks before the match, with a special offer.

Gutterfax is probably better suited to cost this but I bet the game programme would not cost a fortune to advertise in. As for leaflets whats the cost a few of us before kick off a few beers after. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I bet it would cost a fortune. 4-5 figures, easily. Waste of money. And yer I would love to waste my time contributing to North London's litter problem.

Alas listy is right.
Space in anything at Twikers is sold at a premium, so the match day mag is a non starter.
Flyers are again an issue when it comes to litter, but let's face it, the road between the station and the ground always looks like land fill after a game, so we would only be contributing to and not causing the problem. The point is, something has to be planned NOW rather than in January.
EG: TNT magazine will sell discounted space NOW for a Feb run. They may even do a contra deal for a box? Same with The London Paper, London Lite, Sport and Short List, all London free papers that are having trouble filling space. City AM is another one I would target.

Spot on as usual Gutters. I would like to do the marketing at QRL, all I would do is nick all the good ideas of this site and claim the credit.
How difficult can it be?
