I love this quote from the Aussie press;
Ricky Stuart heaped praise on the Kumuls after they proved more worthy opposition for the Cup holders than England - flogged 52-4 by the green and golds eight days ago.
AIRLIE BIRDS FLYIN' HIGH YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL SUN IN THE SKY YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL BREEZE DRIFTIN' ON BY YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ITS A NEW DAWN, ITS A NEW DAY.
LOCKO'S LYRICS OF THE WEEK:- AND ECHOES NOBODY HEARS, IT GOES, IT GOES, IT GOES WE’RE FAITHFUL, WE ALL BEL13VE, WE ALL BEL13VE IT SO FAITHFUL, WE ALL BEL13VE, WE ALL BEL13VE IT
I said it before and it was ignored so I repeat. Unless we stop kidding ourselves about the strength and ability of the game in this country and can manage to put a credible International side on the field to play regular competitive matches the game could very well wither away. One thing for certain when this debacle is over and SL starts it will soon be forgotton and we will all go back to our little cocoon. As far as the press goes, we are a joke!

Would have Smith in over the slug that is Wellens
Can only pick who is out there.
Wellens might look poor at International level but who is better and British?
Smith He has had most of his worst games at FB, fair enough he has got better this season and is improving as a player but he is not even proven at FB in SL never mind in International competition.

PNG has been playing RL for the best part of 50 odd years and Internationals since the mid 70's , Its also there national sport. Granted , It would take a fair bit of money to get the franchise going but just think of how many Bai's, Gene's and Lam's could be found.

Who cares anyway.
Stans a legend at Rovers and was a firm favourite at both Huddersfield and Bradford. Perhaps the problem when he was playing for Hull was, the then Hull coach, chose not give him much game time, and when he did, played him out of position.

True enough, Shaun used Stan more of an impact player, but the Threepennies knew how good he was and their spirits lifted when he came on the field. Don't think Bomber appreciated just how Stan could play for almost the full 80 and so never game him long enough to please the fans. Good to see him have a good World Cup and come away with praise from the Aussie media. ...grannyfan Cindy

My sentiments as well.It will all be forgotten while the next time.The funny thing about it is that some of our so called top players are are on bigger contracts than some of the Aussies who would walk into any S.L.side.Reading the Aussie press and the contracts offered to their players,they are not as much as we would imagine.I could scream every time our so called experts say we are not far from the Aussie,s.Non so blind than those who don't want to see.
