There's no point in chasing quota players that will cost big bucks when right now we can't accommodate them (due to quota and cap reasons). Thorman is a stop-gap to allow us to move for a top half-back in 2010 if one becomes available.

Not sure that we lack abmition or pull when next season we'll have Crocker and Berrigan in our side.

Can see a logic behind it, yes Crocker and Berrigan are both great players but they are not the type of players (especailly in the case of Crocker in my opinion) that would be in demand as say one of the top 7s in the NRL, if a world class halfback did become available for 2010 can you honestly see Hull signing him? This has been said every year since first missing out on Stacey Jones in 2002.

He's a "current" SOO and Aussie International. He's scores quite high on the pecking order.

..and how many top (and I mean top) half backs that we have seriously chased have we actually missed out on to another SL club?

If no one knows what i am on about check out pages 64 and 65 of the last rumours thread. maybe someone can do a link :?:

Anyway i am sorry we have lost Thorman but can i give you some advice.

Thorman is not a full back. EVER.

He is not a great touch line kicker.

He is not blessed with great pace.

he is a good organiser, skilful, a good short kicking game, and he can play through an injury if it was a choice between him and Dykes then it would be Thorman every time. he will be an asset to your team. I also think he is a confidence player and if the fans get behind him then you will reap the rewards.

I am sad to see Thorman leave the Giants. He is a 100% man and has been a worthy captain. He has always been an accomplished half at either 6 or 7 and although has lost a bit of the ability he had to cut through the line he is an excellent organiser and has a very good short kicking game. If he is given an extended run and allowed to settle in in the halves I have no doubt he will be an excellent signing for you.

I do think Sharp ruined him at full back though and this is just not his position, he is dodgy under the high ball and his defence is not the strongest.

Play him in the right position and you have a gem!

Great goalkicker as well!

Best of Luck Chris, you will be missed

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Regards,

Matthew
