First reaction would be, rubbish signing. However the more I think about it the happier I am.

We need a SH, someone who has a good kicking game, can organise the side, someone with experience and hopefully someone who will stay healthy.

Thorman ticks all of these boxes imo, as a SH he does the job pretty well and should also compliment Horne too.

Anyone calling him a fullback wants shooting, he's awful there and should never play there ever again!!!

The other thing I am happy with is that its a one year deal, so if he is having a blinding season and then we can keep him for longer but it also means we can actively search for 2010 if we wish.

He is not as good as Dykes but he's much fitter which is a big plus and IMO he is better and more proven than Webster.

Spot on....anyone slagging off the signing of Thorman and advocating Webster getting a contract is deluded

There is not much difference in ability between Thorman and Dykes in all honesty. Thorman is a lot younger too.

A good signing and can play in several positions, it may just be an inspired signing. I think we will still retain Webster, I think that was always going to happen as he is needed in the reserves as well as 1 st team cover. He does not take up a cap place and still has something to offer if and when we need it.

Moving Horne to full back is strange .................. he played full back as a junior and he has filled in on occasions. His talents would be wasted there and he is a stand off that once he gets a proper scrum half to bat off we can expect fireworks.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.;

When you posted " :D " about a new signing yesterday, were you referring to Thorman?

I'm surprised they didn't try to buy us off with the only time Chris and Richard partnered together Yorkshire trounced Lancashire.

No I was referring to Thacks.

I expected Thorman to sign but had no idea it would be announced today.
