Great work Donna!

Lie low the fields, of Central Park
Where once we watched the King Kenny Play
(and could he play)
We had Boston on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
Of the glory, round the Field of Central Park

Update:

LAND REGISRTY

I spoke to the Land Registry this morning, and they have directed me to the relevant form to complete and send off, and have told me what I need to ask for. I will send off later today with the £6 admin fee.

COUNCIL

Very VERY helpful so far. I spoke to the Democratic Services department, who need to search their ledgers, for the dates when planning permission was discussed and passed for the JJB. When they have the relevant dates (which I have been promised will be today), they will copy the minutes for me, and I can go and pick them up/or they will post them. I should get them tomorrow at the latest.

FUNDING

Next steps for me today is to contact the relevant funding authorities. I think Sport England gave a grant. If anyone knows any different/any other, please let me know.

Mods, should we make this a sticky?

when you obtain the office copies from the land registry you need to request a copy of the registered lease from that title which should detail all wigan rl's leasehold interests in the JJB stadium. This can be done for a fee of £20

unfortunately though i dont think it will help or would have requested these myself.....I would expect there is a clause in the lease which lists that in the case of a conflict between wigan rl and wigan l@t1cs, the stadium managment company shall make the casting decision (ie. w@nk3r whelan). Therefore i suspect we are scupperd

We KNOW that clause is in the lease.
It was the only thing they did agree on last week.

The point is this - and there is always the chance that something may be discovered that makes a difference, no matter how unlikely - The key word to this are...

"CLASH OF FIXTURES"

It would seem that the power Mr. Whelan has is that he gets to decide if there is a clash before he has the power to decide we can't play.
Who knows maybe somewhere buried in the minutes of a council meeting this may just have been brought up and discussed.
They might even have had the sence to have decided just what a fixture clash was going to be defined as.

You see, to me and to the vast majority of people, Friday night is not Saturday afternoon. THERE WAS NO FIXTURE CLASH.

If someone turns up something where this has been discussed we might have something to challenge. But as for the rest of it I can't se what difference it would make.
Keep digging and prove me wrong - PLEASE!

What exactly are you doing this for? (Not being critical)

Is it to see if Wigan Warriors could (if we wanted too) have our own stadium? Or to see if Dave "W*nker" Whelan was going against the ground-sharing agreement when he evicted us to Widnes?

Which is what the Premier League and the RFL work together on to avoid having Premiership and RL, or any other sport for that matter, matches being played on the same day at the same venue.

So we have all the facts. So we know EXACTLY what the status of the ground share is , and what is conditional upon it.

Only when we have all the information can we establish the what nexts...

And mine is a faith in my fellow man

Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

This search has nothing to do with the clause in the lease. This is to do with the premise that planning permission was granted on and whether the lease itself and the interpretation of the lease reflects that premise.

I hope something of use is turned up but I just can't see it.
Remember it was going ahead without us.
Presumably he was using Orrell at the time to fulfill his joint use premise.
the only relevant thing to our future use of the stadium is that clause I would have thought. It is what gives the stadium management company i.e. Whelan his power.

If something turns up great.
I am not knocking the effort or the sentiment behind it.

Right, now I understand.

I just hope this quest answers questions rather than causes them.

Good Luck :thumb:

Ok, I have had the planning meeting minutes, at which the Stadium was approved.

The application was made by Alfred McAlpine Special Projects, and Whelco II Ltd, and was approved on 4/11/1997.

There is nothing of any relevance in there. In fact there is no reference at all to football or rugby.

Awaiting the other information requested.

I will scan the doc tomorrow, so if anyone wants a copy, PM me.
