Heart says we will get a draw, head says we will lose 1-0

Ive got a problem with a well known bookies and thought i would ask you guys in the betting thread who like a bet what you think if i could,
I have to ring this bookies first thing in the morning and state my complaint so i'm asking your advice.
I had a bet on the speedway on Monday night and took the handicap,
my team just totally pi55ed all over the other and the handicap disappeared easily,
but then the weather got really bad and it started to rain heavy,
Under the speedway rules after 13 of the 15 races are run, its not like other abandoned games, the result can be declared officially and the meeting will not have to be re-run,
the result stands then goes in the record books so after the 13 races they declared the meeting finished,
This bookies would not pay me out in the shop tonight except give me my stake back and have declared all bets on the meeting void even though if they had raced the final 2 heats and it had gone against me my bet would have still won anyway.

sounds harsh. I used to work in a bookies years ago. they will have loads of bizarre rules pertaining to the bets in question and "void" bets. It may be though that the people in the shop simply don't know the rules either. I would guess though that unless the event is completed in its entirety, the handicap cannot be fully completed and therefore i would say mate that you are going to lose out. Sorry, just the way I see it and you should still fight your corner.

Yeah , sorry , have to agree , it`s a bit like when you have backed a greyhound, it`s ten lengths clear at the final bend, and the hare breaks.

From bet365 site.......
Club speedway
If match is abandoned before full completion of meeting then all bets on the match will be void unless the running of the match would not have affected the result. Ride-offs do not count. If a match is postponed prior to its scheduled start date/time then bets will be void unless it is rescheduled within 24 hours.
Which is what you are saying, though i guess different bookies may have different rules.
Not been funny but i dont tend to read the rnrs before i place a bet also i usually use oddschecker & go with the biggest price though not ladcrooks anymore!!!!

thats the one as they stated on sky,
my team was so far in front my bet had won even if the final two races had taken place and they lost them both.
if the speedway board or whatever it is has declared the result official and on their own website declared 'the result stands' thats the argument i'm going to give this bookies tomorrow.
